Preserving and Promoting Old-Time Fiddling in Northern New England
Each year a Scholarship Committee is chosen by the board of trustees for the purpose of reviewing any scholarship candidates and their qualifications. This committee consists of two officers and/or trustees and one person from the membership at large. The NEFA treasurer maintains the Scholarship Fund, and within it the Gertrude Deyette Memorial fund. All scholarships or awards must be approved by the board of trustees, or by the Deyette family. All scholarship candidates must be NEFA members in good standing and must demonstrate a genuine interest in old time music and be actively pursuing a method of study toward that interest (including workshops, fiddle camps music lessons, college credits or any other reasonable method of study. There is no age criteria.
